POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the soccer fields and surrounding areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist the Executive Director with development and the implementation of programs within the Sports Department
• Assist the Excutive Director with providing leadership and excellence in program service and delivery, through proper training, evaluation, and promotion of programs.
• Assist the Executive Director with monitoring and maintaining accurate records as it relates to all program areas.
• Assist the Executive Director with giving guidance and direction to sports participants and volunteers
• Assist the Executive Director with maintenance of equipment and inventory and program areas
• Develops relationships for the advancement and promotion of the YMCA Sports Program.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of recreation, physical education or some related field or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum six months experience
• Experience working with all ages of youth
• Knowledge of the game of applicable sports and its rules, regulations, etc.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office ( Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Possess skills in relationship building e.g. excellent communication skills
• Have a full understanding of YMCA philosophy and live, work and perform work duties in a manner consistent with such.
• Referee experience
• Coaching experience
